Seasands Lodge in KwaZulu Natal is situated away from the busiest part of the town of St. Lucia but with easy access to supermarkets, restaurants etc. See St. Lucia Estuary map for location. (Follow the R618 turn-off from Mtubatuba to the village of St. Lucia)

Our Conference facility is totally separate from the Lodge Accommodation.

St. Lucia is officially a no-risk malaria area & is a 2½ hours drive north of Durban on the N2 toll road.
From Gauteng drive via Ermelo, Piet Retief and Pongola (6½ hours). St. Lucia is ideal for a stopover for visitors driving between Kruger National Park & Kwa-Zulu Natal OR for those starting their journey in Cape Town and driving northwards to the Kruger Park.

St. Lucia is known as the gateway to the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park and therefore  ideally positioned as an accommodation base for further exploration. 

St. Lucia South Africa is the ideal accommodation stop-over on your journey to or from the famous Kruger National Park or Cape Town.

Cape Vidal , one of the best snorkeling and spear fishing venues on the coast, is 32 Km north of St Lucia. Access is through a nature reserve containing 4 of the Big 5, Lion being absent for the safety of beach users.

The world renowned Hluhluwe/ iMfolozi game reserve is a mere 35 minutes drive away - close enough for a day trip. Details of self-drive tours is available from our reception.

Richards Bay is the nearest airport to St. Lucia estuary offering scheduled flights (Seasands Lodge operate a shuttle service) and the nearby 121 batallion 1.5Km concrete landing strip is available for private flights.

The Top Accommodation & Conferencing Venue In A Unique Destination

For your added privacy, each Lodge Unit has it's own private entrance and private balcony.

Our Lodge accommodation is serviced daily and consists of a large bedroom with lounge area, full bathroom & shower, fully kitted out kitchenette and verandah with garden furniture. 

Accommodation choices are :- B&B, self catering, dinner B&B or book room only & do what suits you!

All  Lodges have ceiling fans and are air conditioned, with individual balconies. The front facing rooms offer sweeping views over the Wetlands.

All accommodation units have a TV with M-net, is well equipped and tastefully decorated.

All meals are available in our Indaba restaurant as an optional extra. The venue caters for conferences. See also the heading MEALS below.

We have 28 Lodges en-suite and large bus groups are easily accommodated.

Overcrowding is not allowed & occupancy is determined by the amount of beds.

The swimming pool is set in the lush tropical gardens.

There is ample secure parking on the premises.

The Lapa with its wooden sundeck and cosy bar offers magnificent views over the wetlands to the sea.
The Lapa can be used as a conference venue comfortably catering for 35 delegates and is equipped with flip charts, overhead projector, television and VCR.

• Boat safari`s on the lake to see crocodiles on Lake St. Lucia and hippos in st. Lucia Estuary in their natural environment

• Turtle tours during November, December and part of January (weather and tides permitting) to view Giant Leatherback turtles at Cape Vidal or St. Lucia returning to lay their eggs on the beaches where they were born.
• Game Reserve excursions - 'Big 5' game reserves close to St. Lucia village  
• Birding in and around St. Lucia - a variety of habitats i.e. wetlands, grasslands, sand and tropical forests. Seasands Lodge is proud of our membership of Birdlife South Africa and part of the Zululand birding route.
• Snorkeling tours to Cape Vidal
• Horse riding in the wetlands of St. Lucia.
• Game Viewing on horseback
• A visit to a traditional Zulu village to experience first hand Zulu culture
