St Lucia is officially a no-risk malaria area & is a 2½ hours drive north of Durban on the N2 toll road.
From Gauteng drive via Ermelo, Piet Retief and Pongola (6½ hours). St. Lucia is ideal for a stopover for visitors driving between Kruger National Park & KwaZulu Natal OR for those starting their journey in Cape Town and driving northwards to the Kruger Park.

St Lucia Estuary in South Africa is known as the gateway to the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park and therefore ideally positioned as an accommodation base for further exploration. 

St Lucia in Kwazulu Natal South Africa is the ideal accommodation stop-over on your journey to or from the famous Kruger National Park or Cape Town.

Cape Vidal , one of the best snorkelling and spear fishing venues on the coast, is 32 Km north of St Lucia. Access is through a nature reserve containing 4 of the Big 5, Lion being absent for the safety of beach users.

The world renowned Hluhluwe/ iMfolozi game reserve is a mere 35 minutes drive away - close enough for a day trip. Details of self-drive tours is available from our reception.

Richards Bay is the nearest airport to St. Lucia Estuary offering scheduled flights and the nearby 121 battalion 1.5Km concrete landing strip is available for private flights.

Our Lodge accommodation is serviced daily and consists of a large bedroom with lounge area, full bathroom & shower, fully kitted out kitchenette and verandah with garden furniture. 

Accommodation choices are :- B&B or self catering, or book room only & do what suits you!

All  Lodges have ceiling fans and are air conditioned, with individual balconies. The front facing rooms offer sweeping views over the Wetlands.

All accommodation units have a TV is well equipped and tastefully decorated. Channels available are M-Net, SABC1,2 and 3, E-TV, Movie Magic & Supersport.

Breakfast is available as an optional extra in our Indaba restaurant - no booking is required.  For groups of 10 or more Lunch or Dinner is available by prior arrangement. The venue caters for conferences.

We have 28 Lodges en-suite and large bus groups are easily accommodated.

Overcrowding is not allowed & occupancy is determined by the amount of beds.

The Lapa with its wooden sundeck and cosy bar offers magnificent views over the wetlands to the sea.
